The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.

The traitor then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could enable the group access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.

Audiences can anticipate learning which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
